Samsung Galaxy S5 Accidentally Leaked in MWC 2014 Video?

Mobile World Congress is an exciting event where developers around the world – including Samsung and LG – unveil their latest devices. Yesterday, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Gear. One journalist posted a video on his Instagram account showcasing the Galaxy Gear on a clean white surface. The Galaxy Gear looks pretty cool and it will be the first major Samsung device to run Tizen, which is Samsung’s mobile OS competitor to Android. However, behind the Gear is what everybody is talking about. In the brief video, we can see three unknown smartphones. These smartphones are widely thought to be the Galaxy S5 in three separate colors. The original Instagram video was quickly removed after posting. It’s short and the devices you want to see are blurry. But it’s significant because it could be the world’s first glimpse at the Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S5 is rumored to feature a 5.25-inch screen with an unprecedented 2560x1440 resolution. It will also include a 2.5GHz Snapdragon CPU and 3GB of RAM. Obviously, you can’t see any of that in the video. But what we can see are sleek looking cases (there’s currently a massive debate raging on whether they’re plastic cases or metal cases) in three different colors. Samsung is taking criticism for picking its colors in a similar way to Apple, which recently unveiled the iPhone in gold, silver, and black. This leaked video shows devices that have nearly identical shades of color, which is mighty strange. There’s nothing to assume about this video until we officially get word from Samsung – which should happen over the next few days at MWC. However, if Samsung does indeed choose to use the same three colors as the Apple iPhone, that’s going to be a strange decision.
