Latest Rumors: Google Will Launch Nexus 8 and Android 4.5 in July 2014
1 min read
According to the latest Android rumors online, the next major version of Android will be Android 4.5 and we’ll see a Nexus 8 within three months.
Yes, according to reports on a Taiwanese website – which cites a senior employee of Google Dublin – Google will launch Androidf 4.5 in July alongside the new Nexus 8.
Many expected Google to launch the next version of Android – like Android 4.5 or 5.0 – at the annual I/O Conference, which takes place this year on June 25 2014. However, Google is apparently reserving that slot for unveiling other Google services.
The report also indicated that there will be an initial shipment of 2 million Nexus 8 units. The Nexus 8 will be produced by Asus and could adopt an Intel chipset instead of the Qualcomm chipset used on the Nexus 7. It will also be 1 inch larger than the Nexus 7 and will feature an 8 inch screen.
Do any parts of these rumors surprise you? Personally, it all seems fairly run of the mill.
