5 Reasons Why Every Android Fanboy Will Happily Continue Riding the Bandwagon

5 Reasons Why Every Android Fanboy Will Happily Continue Riding the Bandwagon

3 min read
The battle for supremacy and popularity rages on between the iOS and Android community. While it is ultimately the choice of the user as to which platform is good or suitable for him, this write up focuses on  key aspects that gives Android the edge over the iOS. So without further ado, let's get started: a) The first aspect is choice. Today, you can buy an Android smart phone from a plethora of choices you have and each has its own features that the user can compare and then decide. While screen size maybe a factor for someone, battery life may be a factor for the next person. Within the Android sphere, there is always something for everybody. Contrast this to the iPhone where you are limited to buying the iPhone 6, 6 Plus and that is surely a limitation. b) Expandable storage is the next aspect that Android users can easily acquire as opposed to the built in storage provided by the iPhone, but at a huge cost. You can still buy an Android and insert microSD cards for more storage that will not cost you a bomb. These cards are getting cheaper by the day and are therefore the right choice. c) Integration with the Google system is the third aspect. The iPhone is very good for BYOD users. However, its integration to the Google system is not as good as the Android integration. The support Google provides for Google Apps is understandably better with Gmail and Hangouts being particularly easier to operate. You can always argue that an iPhone user need not necessarily integrate with Google but considering the penetration and reach of Google, it would only be a matter of time and it is something that cannot be ignored. d) Packing of information in terms of being able to view it at a glance has become an Android specialty and convenience. Apple has been rather slow to react to the needs of people who wish to have information displayed to them such that they get to know of stuff at a glance. It has not been able to provide customizable user interfaces and even now, the iPhone screen has a list of icons that have not undergone many changes. In contrast, the Android user is able to have the home screen of his choice and populate it with information icons he would like to view quickly and whenever he wants. Indeed, Android displays now come packed with huge data volumes that the iPhone has not been able to match till date. f) The Android offers the user much better interconnectivity and the user can toggle between apps to accessing data pretty easily. The iOS does not allow you such freedom of movement and you have to get out of one totally to get into another app. Sharing of data too is difficult. Though things have now become better with the introduction of the iCloud Drive with the iOS 8, the flexibility offered by Android through the file manager app still scores high.
