IMO.IM - The Multi-Platform Chat System
4 min read
Now that the competition is increasing by the minute in each and everything, we as consumers have a lot of options to choose from. And each of these options are better than the others because they have a neck and neck competition going on. Quality is guaranteed, all we need to do is pick one. This hold true for all products as well as services. The products include anything and everything that we can think of and the services include everything from telecommunication to social media platforms to chatting apps. And due to this very reason, all of our contacts can be found on different communication platforms.
It might get annoying to download all of those apps to be in touch with all of them. Even if we ignore how we feel, the performance of our smartphone will suffer due to the heavy download of so many apps - from making it slow to exhausting its battery faster. Thus, there are two options - we either take the telecom way which is more expensive or we download an app that is compatible with all these various apps.
Therefore, for those of us who want to download an app that supports the different online mediums of staying touch can download an app called IMO.MO. If you have friends scattered across MSN, AIM, Yahoo, Facebook and every other chat network ever created. You don’t have to run eleven different apps to stay in touch; just use IMO.IM and get every protocol in one slick app. It integrates nicely with Android and has a simple, clean interface. It isn’t just another free app that displays ads or pushes you to upgrade, either – it’s ad-free and has no paid, premium version.
IMO.MO has three different panes - contacts, chats and accounts wherein you can add any account from Google Talk to Skype and everything else in between. After adding one, two or multiple accounts, you can link them together for an integrated chatting experience. When you link your accounts, IMO.IM saves their passwords in an encrypted form on its servers. It automatically logs into your other connected accounts whenever you sign into one. This lets you sign into all your accounts with a single password, even if you are using its web app.
In the Contacts section, you will be able to see the online contacts from every account in one place. All you need to do is tap an online name to start the conversation, no matter what platform they are using. Long press a contact and you will see a screen with more information about that contact. From here, you can set an alias for the contact, which you will see instead of the contact’s screen name. For quick access to a contact, you can tap ‘Favorite’ so they will always appear at the top of your contacts list or tap Shortcut to add a shortcut to your home screen. The shortcut will instantly launch a chat with your contact.
Apart from all this, its features include:
- Avoid SMS and phone call charges: Send unlimited messages and make free video and voice calls over your 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi connection
- Make high-quality video and voice calls
- Group chat with friends, family, roommates and others
- Share photos and videos
- Express yourself with hundreds of free stickers!
- Encrypted chats and calls
- Optimized for Android tablets
This app also supports multi-media attachments. You cab even integrate the android and the web app and use it together.
Thus, this app proves to be a savior for all of us, especially for the social butterflies out there who spend most of their time in switching from app to app for keeping up their fabulous lives!
