Check Out the NSFW Highlights from John Legere’s Crazy T-Mobile Presentation

2 min read
Do you know who John Legere is? Probably not. The new T-Mobile CEO seemed to come out of nowhere to take over the company – which is in fourth place behind Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint in America’s carrier markets. At last week’s press event, T-Mobile came out swinging and crafted one of the most entertaining carrier presentations we’ve ever seen (although let’s be honest, it’s not like there was a high bar to begin with). The Un-Carrier 5.0 event by T-Mobile will certainly go down in history. At the press event, T-Mobile announced a few cool features, including:
  • Free 7 day trials of T-Mobile even with new smartphones like the iPhone 5S
  • Free music streaming for multiple popular services
  • legereMore new services exclusively for T-Mobile subscribers
But overshadowing all of these things was the enigmatic CEO of T-Mobile, John Legere. The Verge put together a video with all of John Legere’s highlights from the night. You can watch the video here. Crazy, right? Some of the best quotes from the night include:
  • “Why don't AT&T and Verizon offer unlimited data plans? A.) they can't, B.) they're greedy bastards."
  • "Hope you got the goodie bags, there should be an energy drink right next to the doobie."
  • “These high and mighty duopolists that are raping you for every penny you have.”
The duopolist comment, of course, was addressed to AT&T and Verizon, the two biggest players in the U.S. carrier market which possibly engage in some duopolistic practices. Can you say these things at a public presentation? Who cares! We want to see more of this type of entertainment in a dry carrier market which is controlled by a few mega corporations.
