4 Best Phones with in-display fingerprint scanner this 2019
3 min read
We are slowly losing the easily hacked, easily forgotten, traditional password or PIN Code, and moving on to a more advanced and secured approach in unlocking our smartphone.
First, fingerprint scanner was introduced by embedding it to the side, on front-bottom, or at the back. However, the technology last year is not as reliable as we have this year with a more complicated pattern when recognizing fingerprints, making it less prone to error. What’s more, space is being saved on your phone since the fingerprint scanner is now positioned in-display, giving phones more screen space.
Here are the best phones with in-display fingerprint scanner this year:
Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus
The Samsung Galaxy S10 series features three models: the S10, S10 Plus, and S10e – but only the S10 and S10 Plus features an in-display fingerprint scanner since the S10e is the cheaper amongst the variant.
Aside from the scanner being placed under its QHD+OLED screen, more expensive flagships also offer a triple rear camera setup (normal, wide, telephoto), selfie cameras in a punch-hole cutout, and reverse wireless charging capabilities.
OnePlus 7 Pro
The OnePlus 7 Pro is the brand’s first phone to come with a in-display fingerprint scanner. It also packed with plenty of neat tricks such as a triple camera setup - 48MP main shooter, an 8MP telephoto camera, and a 16MP ultra-wide snapper. In front is a 16MP pop-up camera. To make it even sound cooler, OnePlus 7 Pro is also packed with a class-leading 6.67-inch 90Hz AMOLED display with a 3,120 x 1,440 QHD+ resolution.
Huawei P30 Pro
Probably one of the best phones in 2019 packed with fast performance, great battery life, and impressively fast charging, Huawei is close to perfection adding the in-display fingerprint scanner embedded in an 1080p 6.47-inch OLED screen.
The main reason, however, why we think this is one of the alpha phones this year is its quad-camera setup - a 40MP f/1.6 main camera, an ultra-wide 20MP f/2.2 shooter, an 8MP periscope zoom lens, and a ToF camera. The 40MP camera is an RYYB sensor too, as opposed to a traditional RGB sensor, and this allows it to deliver unparalleled low-light image quality. Huawei’s periscope zoom lens also delivers 5x zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and up to 50x digital zoom.
Xiaomi Mi 9T
Xiaomi Mi 9T isn’t the most powerful phone out there. In fact, it’s one of the cheapest phones that that is already packed with an in-display fingerprint scanner with bonus slick design, better camera resolution, and battery life. For roughly $350, you’re getting a Snapdragon 730 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of (fixed) storage, and a 4,000mAh battery.
The in-display fingerprint scanner is embedded inside the 6.39-inch full HD+ full-screen AMOLED screen. You won’t even find a notch or punch-hole cutout here, as Xiaomi Mi 9T offers a 20MP pop-up selfie camera housing. It also has a triple camera setup - 48MP main, 13MP ultra-wide, 8MP 2x telephoto. Essentially, you get some of the features of the other flagships mentioned above without breaking the bank.
So far, these are the best smartphones with in-display fingerprint scanner that caught our attention. Take your pick.
