Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Rumor Roundup – March 2013
2 min read
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is all but ready to be released. But the Galaxy S’s bigger and older brother, the Note, is also expected to come out with a new edition sometime this year.
So what do we know about the Galaxy Note 3 thus far? Here’s a quick rumor roundup of what we know about the Note 3 in March 2013.
The “ace up the sleeve to beat Apple” release date rumor
Android.gs reports that Samsung plans to use the Note 3 as its “ace up the sleeve.” For those who aren’t familiar with cheating at poker, an ace up the sleeve basically means that Samsung has a card that will beat whatever card Apple plays. To put that rumor in more understandable terms, Android.gs reports that Samsung will wait until Apple releases the next version of the iPhone (the iPhone 5S?) before releasing the Note 3 in response. As a result, Android.gs predicts that the Note 3 will drop a few weeks after the release of the next iPhone, which tends to come around mid to late September.Size – as large as 6.3 inches?
Phablets are getting larger and larger, and the Note 3 will likely be larger than its predecessor. Some reports point to the Note 3 being larger than 6 inches, and a 6.3 inch or even a 7-inch display is possible. However, with reports of a 5.9-inch smartphone being in production by Samsung, it’s likely that the Note 3 will be only slightly larger than its predecessor. Besides, at what point do we start calling a 7 inch phablet simply a tablet?Tech spec rumors
Although it’s too early to say what kind of technical specifications the Note 3 will include, early rumors point towards the following approximations: -Exynos 5 Octa chipset (but with a higher clock speed than the one fitted to the GS4) -2GB of RAM -16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage options -13MP camera -Upgraded S-Pen, although we’re not sure what kind of ‘upgrade’ the pen could get at this point -Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie That’s what we know or suspect so far. As we get closer to the end of the year, expect the Note 3 rumor scene to heat up. I don’t know about you, but I’m very excited for what the future will hold for Samsung. One Click Root Author
